Pao - Pao beauty
One of the major Pao new year celebrations takes place at Kakku. Before dawn Buddhist monks line up to get alms, then as dawn breaks the Pao light candles by the many stupas. The Pao women wear their finest clothes for the occasion, including this distinctive headgear.
