The Kalash live in three valleys in the far northwest of Pakistan that lie next to the Afghan border. The Spring Festival, known as the Joshi Festival, takes place in May. The venue for the dancing is known as the 'High Place'. The Kalash believe they are descended from Alexander the Great's Army, their looks support this theory.
